Armed robbers invade 3 banks in Kogi, kill 2 persons (Video/Viewer’s Discretion)

The Kogi State Police Commissioner, CP Idirisu Dauda Dabban has confirmed an armed robbery attack in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of the state.

According to the report, over 20 fully armed robbers on Tuesday evening invaded the Egbe community and raided three banks killing two persons.

The Commissioner said he was waiting for details from the Area Commander in charge of Egbe.

The armed robbers according to an eyewitness who does not want his name mentioned, invaded the community at about 5 pm on Tuesday evening.

According to him, the fully armed robbers stormed the town in three different vehicles, headed to two of the old generation banks, Access and First Bank in a well-coordinated manner and started shooting sporadically while they equally bombed part of the bank in other to get access into it.

The source said people had to run for their dear lives while the robbers continued the raid.

It was gathered that the robbers also went to UBA Bank in Odo-Eri the headquarter of Yagba West and killed a security officer and another person when they invaded the bank.

The source stated that residents had to take cover in their respective houses while those on duty in the bank quickly locked up themselves to avoid being hit by stray bullets.
