Bandits are raping us – Zamfara women cry out

Several women displaced recently by a wave of attacks in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State have been recounting their shocking experiences of gunmen raping them anyhow and those who refuse to cooperate are killed summarily.
According to some of the victims, recently hundreds of women and children were either killed or missing as a result of the continuous attacks by bandits in Zamfara and Sokoto state.
A woman that identified herself as Hajara told the media how bandits open fire on women who refused to accept their sexual advances.

The woman called Hajara who is from Tsafe and among those recently displaced by the activities of bandits in the area noted that some women were even taken from their matrimonial homes but were shot when they refused to have sex with the gunmen. Some of the women told the gunmen that it is better for them to die than to sleep with them.
Another resident of the area identified as Mustapha said his granddaughter was killed for refusing to sleep with the gunmen, and most of the attacks of the villagers are coming from Bello Turji and his men, even though recently Nigeria Army invaded Turji’s Camp and killed many of his men.
