Gov. Zulum visits Biu, distributes 300 million naira cash (Video)

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum visited Biu town alongside members of the National and State Assembly from the area and distributed the sum of N300 million naira cash to members of the community to assist them in boosting their businesses.
The Governor narrated that the money will be shared into different categories, some will get N30,000 each, others N200,000 each, some will get N500,000 each while about 20 members of the community will be given N1 million naira each. According to him, it is not a loan, but a soft assistance for members of the community to assist them in their business and farming activities.

According to him, Biu is a very important area in the state and that is why when they lost their Emir, his government did not politicize the exercise but quickly accepted the recommendation of the kingmakers, by approving their choice. Today the new Emir is fully in office and discharging his duties as required by the law.
According to him, his government will not tolerate indiscipline, insecurity or criminality, he has, therefore, directed the state Commissioner of Police, Director DSS, and NSCDC to properly arrest and deal with criminals decisively so that there will be peace in the area.
He announced during the visit that his government will revive the old abandoned Biu dam and similarly, make fertilizer available to people of the area in good time to be supervised and distributed by government agents so that it will not fall in the wrong hands for the benefit of the people. His government also plans to engage those that are jobless and provide other facilities that will ensure that people get a very good source of living.
Part of what his government also intends to give people of the area for gainful employment includes several Napep tricycles, Sharon Buses and other assorted brands of vehicles that people can use for transport and earn a very good source of living. He is not in office to steal or to sleep when his people are facing challenges of insecurity from bandits and gunmen. He will liaise with community leaders in Biu, members of their state and national assembly prominent indigenes from the area, in and outside the state so that the area can be developed for the benefit of the people.
Governor Zulum was received by members of the Biu community on a very colourful occasion with some of them telling him that he is the best thing to ever happen to the state since its creation and they will continue to cooperate with him so that his administration will have a peaceful tenure.
