Government officials worry as embattled Kano APC Chairman visits Ja’afar Ja’afar in London

The reported visit of embattled Kano APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas to London and his visit with publisher of Daily Nigerian Ja’afar Ja’afar is causing serious tension within the administration of Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The visit came as a surprise to all watchers of Kano politics. Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas sought the permission of Governor Ganduje to travel to London for vacation with his family which was granted.
Later on the associates of Governor Ganduje were shocked when Ja’afar Ja’afar issued a statement containing his pictures and that of Abdullahi Abbas announcing that they met in London and had a very long and private discussion.
Ja’afar Ja’afar is the media practitioner and youth leader who came out with series of videos showing Kano State Governor collecting dollars as bribe from a contractor in 2018, an incident that has seriously embarrassed the Governor.
The Governor took the matter to Kano State House of Assembly, Ja’afar Ja’afar was invited to appear before them and was made to swear by the Holy Qur’an.
Not impressed by this, Ganduje further took the issue to court, but he lost. The court ruled against him and fined him the sum of 8 million naira, going with his lawyers advice, he did not appeal but decided to pay Ja’afar Ja’afar the amount stated.
With all the incidents, people are surprised why Abdullahi Abbas decided to visit Ja’afar Ja’afar in London including having a long discussion with him.
Cabinet members of the Governor have met to brainstorm on what Abdullahi Abbas who lost the APC Kano Chairmanship case in Abuja High court and Appeal Court might have discussed with the publisher of the Daily Nigerian.
There are guesses that the politician maybe planning to betray the state governor and associates of Governor Ganduje are mapping out perfect strategies to handle Abdullahi Abbas in case he tried to make a mischievous move.
The APC Chairman was a Commissioner of commerce during the regime of Governor Kwankwaso before they had a fallen out and became political enemies.
