Story from Haruna YUSUF
Iorshagher Aondongu Emmanuel, the Vice-chairman and other members of “Friends Of Hope Initiative” visited the General Hospital Suleja Niger State to offer assistance to various patients who are dealing with one ailment or the other.
During an interview with Newsmen, the Vice-chairman noted that with the financial paucity faced by the country to carry out its important responsibility, it is imperative for Nigerians to be their brothers’ keeper.
“We are people of like minds that came together to cater for the needs of helpless citizens, we have observed that Government alone can’t do it”.
Emmanuel revealed to newsmen that as a new Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) this is their first outing and they have been able to put together little resources that will put a smile on the face of the poor hoping to continue such gesture.
Additionally, he said the motive behind this coming together is that most of their members were less privileged, thus, ” we decided to give back to society because we have been there and we know how it feels.”
He further advised the citizens that as Nigerians, you don’t have to be a millionaire to render help to the needy; considering the economic realities that the citizens are face with, he noted.
He told newsmen that, it’s imperative to note that the only panacea to Nigerians social-economic challenges is by cosseting each other; as an act of kindness knows no bound.
Neptune Prime observed that there were smiles on the faces of patients on their hospital beds as they received their gift items from members of the NGO.
