Safna Aliyu Maru, a Fulani from Maru Local Government Area in Zamfara State, is one actress that came to Kannywood and easily became a celebrity because of her beauty, her posture and acting skills which some producers are still putting pressure on her to return to acting because her face sells films at ease.
When she joined Kannywood and was being harassed left and right by producers and directors for sex, she decided to quickly set up her production company and started producing her own films, hiring first-class actors and actresses and within a short time, she became a popular producer and people are daily trooping to her office to seek for a chance to act in her films.
But Safna quickly diversify and engaged in selling pieces of jewellery, wrappers, bags, shoes, cosmetics and several other software products, similarly, she did not stop there, she started handling contracts, commercials for companies, including programmes for politicians.
Speaking on her experience about acting and film production, Safna Maru noted that there is no profession that you don’t find people who are morally corrupt and all they do is bring bad image to their profession, Kannywood she noted is not an exception, it is an industry full of people from different characters and different background, as such, there is no way you can check make their moral activities.
Even though, Kano has films and Censorship Board, including a powerful Hisbah Board, and all these agencies are up and doing to check moral activities of actors and actresses including moral training for the youths, there are those no matter what, they will always embark on activities that will pollute the society, as for her, she is not thinking on returning to the industry now except if God wishes that she will do so.
On marriage, Safna though she admitted that she has several admirers all over the place, as of now, she has not decided who to settle down with.
Boosting her business is her number one priority.
