Jigawa House of Assembly passes 2022 appropriation bill into law
Story from Dahiru SULEIMAN, Dutse
The Jigawa State House of Assembly has passed the 2022 appropriation bill into law.
Chairman of the House committee on appropriation, Honourable Suleiman Musa Kadara read the committee report on the floor of the House after which the lawmakers unanimously approved the report, adopted and passed it into law.
During the meeting, seating members of the gallery and media reporters were vividly surprised while others felt disappointed with the actions of the speaker, Rt. Honourable Idris Garba Kareka and the Clark of the House, Mal. Musa Aliyu Abubakar who were busy with their mobile phones.
Members of the gallery carefully observed through the actions and hand movements which indicated that the two principal officers were either charting, going through Facebook or playing games on their mobile phones.
These actions might not be unconnected with the quantum of the report sheets which looks so voluminous as it contained 20 pages while that of the 27 LGA’s contained nine making a total of 29 pages of both the state and LGA budget 2022 estimates.
Though one of the members quickly drew the attention of the speaker who quickly dropped the phone.
