SS3 student beats teacher to death for flogging his younger sister ​in Delta

A secondary school student Michael Ogbeise, has beaten his teacher, Ezeugo Joseph, to death for flogging his younger sister.

The incident happened at Erhemu Secondary School located in the university community of Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State

The assailant, Master Ogbeife, said to be a Senior Secondary School 3 student, reportedly descended on his teacher, Joseph, for allegedly flogging his sister, Promise Ogbeise.

Promise was said to have fought with one of her classmates, leading to her being disciplined by the teacher.

It was gathered that the teacher, identified simply as Joseph was, until his death, in charge of Agricultural Science and Biology subjects in the private school.

Michael reportedly left the school’s premises angry, after seeing his sister being flogged and returned to confront the teacher in the staff office.

He was said to have punched the teacher leaving him with a bloody nose, which led to his eventual collapse.

The teacher was rushed to a private hospital in the community, then to a government hospital where sources said he was confirmed dead.

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, said that the suspect is on the run.

“The story is true. The young man attacked the teacher who collapsed in the process.

“The suspect is nowhere to be found for now, but his sister is in protective custody,” he said.

Meanwhile, the school has been shut down by the proprietor.
