Sylvester Oromoni: Atiku, Funke Akindele-Bello, Kanayo O. Kanayo, others demand justice for late student (video)

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, Kanayo O. Kanayo among other celebrities are demanding for justice regarding the death of a 12-year-old secondary school student of Dowen College, Sylvester Oromoni.

They are calling for swift investigation by the relevant authorities to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the child.

The former vice president, took his Twitter account on Friday to react on Sylvester’s death, which had sparked a lot of agitations from Nigerians.

“We shall be failing in our duties as parents/ guardians, administrators,security agencies and government if we do not get to the bottom of the case of late Sylvester Oromoni. It is beholden upon us to enthrone a safe environment in our

schools. #JusticeforSylvester,” he tweeted.

Also, Funke Akindele on her Instagram page expressed displeasure on the death of the child, asking for transparency on the investigation of the incident.

“After reading through this report,…one word stood out! bullying!!! Bullies have parents. They are not orphans& its so sad that little Sylvester had to die this way.

“It’s Sylvester today & could be another child tomorrow so we need to do the right thing beginning from the home.

“A bully can’t be reformed at a boarding school because it’s not a remand home.

“My heart goes out to his parents & family. This is one death too painful & all the guilty parties must be made to face the wrath of the law!

“@dowencollegelagos needs to be transparent & allow independent investigation into what led to Sylvester’s death.

Meanwhile, Nollywood actor now a lawyer, Kanayo, in a video on his Instagram page appealed to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu not to allow people to take laws into their hands, therefore urging that those involved in Sylvester’s death must be brought to justice.
