A former presidential candidate of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) in the aborted 1993 Third Republic, Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa, is dead.
The late politician died in the early hours of Monday, due to ill health, a family source confirmed.
According to a source, the funeral prayer would hold at 9.00am at his residence at Gandu Albasa, in Kano metropolis.
Neptune Prime reports that the late politician and businessman, who was born in June 1947, was also the Chairman, Kano Elders Forum.
Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa was earlier rumoured to have died on Friday before it was denied.
