APC Chairmanship: APC Youth Forum endorse Senator Al-Makura

Story from Ibraheem Hamza MUHAMMAD, Lafia

APC Youth Progressive Forum (APC-YPF ) has endorsed Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for the Chairmanship of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Ukasha Hamza Rahma, told journalists in Abuja “We have been supporting for the entrenchment of democracy, and now as we have it, we need a real democrat like Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura who has been a democrat since during the second republic, became an underdog who defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and became the governor.

“He transformed Nasarawa from a rural to a developing state with infrastructure, emerging enabling environment and hope for the people,” Rahma said.

Alhaji Ukasha said that it is relatively easy for a political party to be registered, but it is very hard to maintain the full membership and even get new registered entrants and maintain peace and harmony within the party except with people like Senator Al-Makura.

The youth leader, however, called on the APC to ensure that they support a democratic process that would foster peace and unity of the party and not allow gate-crashers to ruin the progress so far achieved by the party.

Alhaji Ukasha said that it is on record that Senator Al-Makura has maintained the members of the party in the same fold especially those who lost in the party primaries in the state and went round other states to dialogue and foster unity among members.

The young politician said that his candidate, Senator Al-Makura has been a founding father of the APC, a governor and now a senator, who has the experience to lead the party to glory and in unity.
