Badaru commended the Zonal Coordinator for her active role in the successes recorded in the Jigawa State command and also promised to continue to support the Nigerian Immigration Service.

Responding, Mrs Lawal said they were at the government house to update the Jigawa State Governor on their activities in the state and to inform him of the award ceremony organized for some of the outstanding officers in the service.

She added that their gallant officers in the Jigawa State command have been active in recent times especially with their records of the number of apprehended human trafficking victims.

At the Command premises, while presenting award certificates to deserving officers, the NIS Zone B coordinator lauds traditional institutions as saying they have a vital role to play in the fight against the insecurity situation in Nigeria.

She explained that the security agencies need the support and cooperation of traditional leaders to succeed in the fight against criminals and criminalities in the country.

“We need traditional rulers in maintaining the security situation of the nation because they are more relevant in ensuring peace, stability and well-being of every given society.

“They are the gatekeepers of any society and also the custodian of tradition and culture,” she said.
