Mrs Benita Okwuibe who is in critical condition was shot alongside her relatives including her mother by gunmen at her husband’s funeral in Anambra State on Thursday, January 13, 2021.
According to the reports, Benita was shot following accusations by her husband’s relatives that she was responsible for the man’s death.
However, the deceased family allegedly blamed her (Benita) for his death and tried to eliminate her and her family.

Benita Okwuibe lost her 33-year-old husband, Onyedika Jeremiah, last December after battling an ailment said to be “elephantiasis”.
The couple had been married for less than one year when the tragedy occurred.
A friend who made the claim on Facebook said Benita’s mother and co-wife died while Benita is in critical condition in the hospital.
Benita’s Facebook posts show her mourning her late husband after his death last December.
She shared photos of his feet, swollen and scabbed, before his death as she mourned him.
