I will reconcile with Ganduje if he runs the party based on justice, equity – Shekarau

The former Governor of Kano State, now Senator Representing Kano Central in the National Assembly, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has said that his followers in APC G7 Kano will reconcile with the other group led by Kano State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje if the governor will run the party base on justice and equity.
“I was Governor of Kano State for 8-years and the Governor is also in his second term which means he will also spend 8-years as Governor. Both of us have people that we want to occupy one office or the other in Kano State or at the national level, but so far we are not getting the desired respect and equal representation from the Governor, as such with due respect to the National Caretaker Chairman, we are not ready for reconciliation yet.”
Shekarau, who was Kano State Governor from 2003 to 2011, recently sponsored Ahmad Danzago for APC Chairmanship in Kano, while the Governor presented Abdullahi Abbas and in the end, two chairmen emerged for the party in the state. Later the National Secretariat of the party recognized the Chairman that emerged from Shekarau’s side, Ganduje refused to recognize him and proceeded to court in Abuja which they lost.
He again appealed for the stay of execution of the Abuja Federal High Court judgment, again he lost, in fact, the judges presiding over the case stepped down and said they will not handle the case again, and as the crisis may affect the chances of the party in 2023, the National Secretariat is doing everything possible to broker a peace but it is not yielding much result.
Shekarau is insisting that they want all their case in court to be exhausted if it favours them then let it be so, and if it goes the other way we would decide on what to do because if the Governor did not give us an undertaking that there will be a free expression of interest we will not reconcile.
Recently, Governor Mai Mala Buni, the National Caretaker Chairman of APC has constituted a committee of respected APC followers to dialogue between two groups so that the party will be fully prepared for the 2023 elections. At the moment Ganduje and his wife are supporting Sule Garo for 2023 Governorship while Shekarau and his G7 group are sponsoring Senator Barau Jibril to succeed Governor Ganduje in 2023.
