I’ll not sue Nafisa for breach of trust – Kannywood director, Aminu Saira
Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano.
For the first time, the producer of Hausa series ‘Labarina’, Malam Aminu Saira, has revealed that he will not take legal action against Nafisa Abdullahi for abandoning his project when he finished arrangements to commence shooting the 5th episode of the film.
Recently, Nafisa Abdullahi, who came to Kannywood through Ali Nuhu and featured her in the film ‘Sai Watarana’ had written to the producer of ‘Labarina’, saying she was quitting the series. The project was conceived since 2014 and the script edited by the producer for years with film writer, Ibrahim Birniwa. They began production after assembling trusted and experience actors and actresses, with huge fees paid to the artistes.

Aminu Saira told BBC that he wanted to start the ‘Labarina’ project since 2014-2015 but started production about 2-3 years ago when television houses began sponsoring and hearing Hausa film series. He also moved to YouTube to show his films to his viewers worldwide.
It was at the peak of the project that one of the leading actresses, Maryam Wazeery got married and left without notice; before that, Nuhu Abdullahi left, Isa Feros Khan Presido was thinking of leaving, including Naziru Ahmad, who is Aminu Saira’s half-brother.
Still, Aminu Saira and Nazifi Asnanic insisted on continuing with the film series because of the confidence they had in one of the lead actresses, Nafisa Abdullahi (Sumayya), she is very close to them since the time they had given her a prominent role in the successful film, ‘Dan Marayan Zaki’, but Nafisa also threw in the towel, and Aminu Saira had no choice but to suspend the entire production and re-strategise again.
He confided in those close to him about how friends and associates were urging him to take Nafisa Abdullahi to court for breach of trust but he made it clear that he would not do that.
