Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has decorated his son, Adeboye Obasanjo who was promoted to the rank of a Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army.
The event took place at the headquarters, Nigerian Army Engineer Corps, Lagos, on Wednesday.

According to reports, Adeboye was promoted from the rank of Colonel Brigadier General.
The event was said to be historic for the former president, who was also in the Nigerian Army Engineer Corps while in the military. His son is of the Engineer Corps.
The former president was accompanied by Towulade of Akinale Kingdom of Egbaland, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, to the occasion.
The newly-promoted Brigadier General OA Obasanjo has two Master Degrees and other professional qualifications.
He also attended courses both in Nigeria and abroad. He also served in various formations and units of the Nigerian Army, where he held different appointments.
The former President was first a military Head of State from 1976 to 1979 before he was democratically elected in 1999 to 2003 and 2003 to 2007.
