Rahama Sadau dares Kano Hisbah, MOPPAN, shoots new film
Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano
Controversial Kannywood star, producer and director, Rahama Sadau has ignored her expulsion by the Kano State Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) and has started shooting her new film.
The film which is going to be a long series titled Matar Aure will feature first-class actors and actresses like Yakubu Mohammad.
Rahama was declared wanted by the Police last year when a human rights lawyer wrote a petition about her, sighting a half-nude picture she posted on social media as an insult, to Islam, the North, its culture and its people.
After the petition, the Kaduna State police command was directed by force headquarters Abuja to arrest her and take her to Abuja for necessary actions. But it was alleged that a senior government official in the villa directed the then Inspector General of Police to stay clear of Rahama Sadau and allow her to do whatever she likes because she is at liberty to live her life the way she wants it.
But some respected clerics in Kano petitioned Kano Hisbah, Kano MOPPAN, and Kano Office of Films and Censorship Board to punish her because it was the third time she has breached the law governing Kannywood. In fact, she was suspended thrice in the past but later secured a soft landing when she featured in some media houses in Kano and apologized to Kano State Governor, Emir of Kano and the entire Muslim Ummah.
But she was quoted as saying that; all the crises that she went through only opened doors of success for her. At a point, she was invited to Hollywood for a film project and later, she was in India where she was featured in an Indian film because she speaks Hindi very well.
Similarly, she was in Nollywood and Ghallywood and other African countries. She also set up a life care NGO to help the poor and the needy, so she is now shooting her own film daring whoever will challenge her.
