Bauchi oldest Emir, Alhaji Ahmadu Muhammadu Wabi III is dead

The Emir of Jama’are Alhaji Ahmadu Muhammadu Wabi III has died at the age of 92 years after a brief illness.

Late Emir Ahmadu died last night at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

Late Wabi is one of the six first-class emirs in Bauchi State.

He is the oldest Emir in Bauchi State, who died after he reigned for 51 years.

One of the deceased son Hassan Ahmad Wabi chigarin Jama’are announced the demise of the emir on Sunday.

Alhaji Muhammadu Wabi III is survived by two wives and 36 children.”

Alhaji Ahmadu Muhammadu Wabi III was born on August 2nd,1938 as a prince he attended the Bauchi middle School between 1952 and 1956, he worked at the native authority before joining the agricultural sector and become the livestock officer in 1962.

Late Wabi worked as the Chief scribe clerk to the Jama’are Emirate Council from 1964 to 1970. He was a member of the defunct Northern Peoples Congress NPC.

The deceased emir was appointed as the 9th Emir of Jama’are at his youthful age on November 19th, 1970, and was given a staff of office on May 11th, 1971.

In 2008 the then President Umaru Musa Yar’adua meritoriously conferred Ahmadu Muhammadu Wabi III with the National Merit Award of Officer of the Order of the Niger OON.

Late Emir worked harmoniously with 17 Governors both military and civilians that governed Bauchi State.

He is the longest Emir in the History of Jama’are Emirate Council, he clocked 51 years on the throne.
