Following the discovery of the importation of about 100 million litres of adulterated Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which led to scarcity in some parts of the country, the Federal Government of Nigeria says six vessels containing about 300 million litres have arrived to meet supply gap.
This was disclosed by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), on Wednesday.

According to Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer, NMDPRA, the vessels ordered by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), came in to close the gap created by the contaminated petrol withdrawn from affected depots and filling stations.
Recall on Tuesday said that the limited quantity of PMS with methanol quantities above Nigeria’s specification was discovered in the supply chain which led to scarcity of the commodity thereby creating untold hardship for motorists.
