Bandits storm Katsina community, kill many, abduct mother with child

Bandits on Monday night stormed Guga village in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State with sophisticated weapons and shut sporadically into the air to cause panic among the villagers.
After they succeeded in causing panic among the populace, the bandits went from house to house stealing valuables, killing people in mass and kidnapping several others to an unknown destination in an operation that lasted more than an hour.

Among those abducted by the bandits were a married woman named Rahmatu and her daughter.
According to reports, the villagers had left in masses to Funtua and Bakori LGAs at the time of filing this report.
Though the security agencies are claiming successes against the bandits but the villagers in Katsina, Zamfara and Kaduna states are still facing serious security challenges as it is no longer easy to travel to neighbouring villages to transact business.
