Edo Bank Robbery: How criminals abandoned stolen cash, escaped

Masked armed men who successfully robbed six commercial banks at the Uromi area of Edo State on Thursday, February 24 have reportedly abandoned the cash they stole and escaped after sighting youths in the area who barricaded the exit route.

The criminals having spotted the youths at the Ubiaji – a major exit route in the area initiated a Plan B by abandoning the monies they stole stocked in sacks and their vehicles and escaped.

The vehicles and cash said to have been recovered were handed to the Ubiaja police station.

According to reports, investigation is ongoing and arrest has been made.

The police is yet to issue official statement regarding the incident.

Neptune Prime had reported on Friday of the robbery attack in which six lives were lost.
