Gov. Buni has repositioned APC as a party for all, nobody will lose out, by Yusuf Ali
Governor Mai Mala Buni and Chairman, APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, has repositioned APC as a party for all Nigerians, nobody will lose out as a result of any process or exercise. He has provided a platform to carry along everybody for national development.
It is unfortunate that some section of the media is filled with negative commentaries that factions of the All Progressives Congress in states that are loyal to some Ministers and Senators are set to lose out as the APC has perfected plans to inaugurate State Chairmen loyal to Governors, it is important to make it very clear for the umpteenth time that Governor Mai Mala Buni has reposition APC as a party for all and nobody will lose out.

There is no denying the fact that the fallout Ward, Local and State Congresses has created divisions in some states, it is expected that wherever and whenever there is a competition, of course, there is bound to be contestations. The APC as a progressive party organisation based on rules and procedures will always provide avenues and channels as it is critical for members who were dissatisfied with processes to ventilate their grievances through an internal mechanism.
In the words of Governor Mai Mala Buni “This party is for all Nigerians, therefore we must show, not only by words but by concrete actions that there’s no attempt to exclude or sideline anybody in the course of its activities.
“This is very fundamental, not only to the CECPC but to the preservation of the very essence of the party.
It is for this reason that Governor Buni led CECPC inaugurated the powerful Senator Abdullahi Adamu led National Reconciliation Committee, to reconcile aggrieved party members to achieve unity and cohesion, ahead of the national convention and the 2023 general elections.
Although the National Reconciliation Committee has submitted its interim report, doors are still open. The Committee is still receiving petitions. The Committee had promised Nigerians that it would do justice as humanly possible to everybody who is aggrieved through fair hearing, and this is what they are doing.
Senator Abdullahi Adamu while submitting the interim report said they are still working and attending to aggrieved party members, before their final report to the party. “As of today, we still have petitions coming in. People are still trooping in to come and see us, and we cannot, in all fairness, stop them. Reconciliation is a work in progress.
He explained that when the committee finally submitted its report, it would be up to the Governor Buni led APC Caretaker Committee to impose sanctions on members who kicked against peace and reconciliation efforts.
Governor Buni led CECPC is taking all the paths of peace and reconciliation to improve the unity and strength of the party. In spite of the achievements recorded so far in reconciliation and peacebuilding efforts, it is very pertinent for the party to promote the philosophy of unity of purpose, to pursue national interests against personal interests and a functional system of internal democracy to have a united, stable and prosperous political party.
