My beauty, humility earned me a place in Kannywood – Actress

Fatima Muhammed Fulani, a 27 years old Kannywood actress, is a student of Sada’atu Rimi College of Education Kumbotso, Kano.
She told Neptune Prime’s correspondent in an interview that she is now less than 8-years-old in Kannywood and so far she featured in two films, one, ‘DANMALAM’ in which she was given the role of junior sister to Sadiq Sani Sadiq and her second film is ‘SO DA SO’ with a role of a prominent actress.
Before joining Kannywood, she alleged that she had been hearing all sorts of bad news about the industry. Most members of the society have a negative perception about members of the industry, but when she joined she discovered that there is nothing of such, in fact, the industry does not tolerate indiscipline or producers that are with the habit of sleeping with new actresses before giving them roles in their films.

As for her, she told Neptune Prime that when she approached some producers and directors to join Kannywood, they did not give her conditions because according to her, she is beautiful and simple, and as such her face would sell a film and she too will be a good actress and team player free of crisis.
Neptune Prime: You are too young to be in Kannywood because people have believed that most of those in the industry are morally corrupt?
Fatima: I was having the same feeling before I came here, I heard all sorts of stories, like Directors and Producers insisting to sleep with female actresses before featuring them in their films, but this did not only happen to me, most of the ladies I met in the industry told me that nobody ever asked them to zip down before getting a role.
NP: Tell us about your background?
Fatima: Well I hail from Kano State. My name is Fatima Muhammad Fulani, and I am 27-years-old. I am now a student of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education Kumbotso, Kano State.
NP: So far you have featured in 2 films ‘DANMALAM’ and ‘SO DA SO’, how excited are you?
Fatima: Before I joined Kannywood I only watched the actors and actresses on the television. When I was given the role of Sadiq Sani Sadiq’s sister in the film ‘DANMALAM’, I could not sleep before starting the film. Secondly, I was very nervous, it’s like a dream to even see Sadiq Sani Sadiq in-person talk less of being on the same stage with him face to face but I did my best and I did not disappoint myself, since then I have now featured in several films.
NP: Among the actors and actresses in Kannywood who and who do you admire most?
Fatima: Wow, the industry has many fine actors and actresses. On the part of male actors, we have first-class actors like Ali Nuhu, Sadiq Sani Sadiq, Momoh, Almustapha, Mustapha Musty, Ibrahim Maishunku, Baba Karami etc. On the female side, we have Hafsat Idris, Fati Washa, Jamila Nagudu, in fact, Jamila Nagudu is the most versatile actress one can talk of, then Halima Atete, Maryam Yahaya, Bilkisu Shema and several others.
NP: What are your immediate plans, did you intend to get married after your NCE programme?
Fatima: I have a very tall ambition, I want to be a successful actress. I want to have a university degree after my NCE, but about marriage, I am not considering that now because I am only 27-years-old and age is very much on my side and I want to utilize my life to the fullest.
NP: What changes have you noticed in your life since you joined Kannywood?
Fatima: Many, before I joined Kannywood even you have never bothered to interview me. Before now, the name Fatima Muhammad Fulani does not ring a bell, but now anytime I go out for shopping or other occasions people are eager to have my number. Some are even ready to take me out or to date me, which means I am becoming a celebrity and I am enjoying the attention been given to me. Let me also tell my fans that in the next year or two they should expect the best from me.
