Niger Republic to partner Kano on youth development
Story from Shafa’atu DAUDA, Kano
The Niger Republic’s Minister of Vocational Training, Kassoum Mamane Moctar has said his country is impressed with the laudable programmes and policies initiated by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s administration towards youth development.
According to the Minister, the strides achieved in that sector made the government of Niger Republic send a delegation to Kano on a study tour of its skills acquisition programmes for the youths.

The Minister made the statement on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje at the Kano Government House.
He added that the youth empowerment initiative of the Kano State Government is worthy of emulation because of its impact on the lives of the Kano people.
Responding, the Governor represented by his Deputy, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna said that realising that the youths are the backbone of development, made the state government give them priority in its programmes.
“Empowering the youths is very essential to us because it prevents them from idleness, drug abuse and committing crimes,” he said.
The Governor, however, while assuring the delegation from the Niger Republic of continued support and cooperation, described the visit to the youth development facilities in the state as proof of the existing relationship between them and Nigeria, particularly with Kano State.
