Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday visited the family of the late five-year-old girl, Hanifa Abubakar, in Kano, who was kidnapped and murdered by her school teacher, last December.
Neptune Prime reported that Hanifa, was kidnapped in December by Abdulmalik Tanko, her teacher who is also the proprietor of Noble Kids Nursery and Primary School, where the little girl was a pupil.
It was reported that after Tanko killed Hanifa, he buried her in a shallow grave inside the school compound.
In a video shared on Twitter by a user, @LocalGirllsFine, the vice president was received by the mother of the late girl and other members of the family.
In the 40 seconds video, the vice president was seen standing with the mother although, details of his words could not be picked but it is believed he was offering words of encouragement to the bereaved mother.
The incident which was elicited reactions from many Nigerians including the first lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, who commented saying that capital punishment should be served on Tanko.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Government has assured that judgment will be delivered within one month.
The school has since been shut down by the state.
