Parents of beneficiary girls applaud Hon. Akims Mamot’s scholarships, training
Story from Yakubu VENTIM, Jos
An aspirant for the Mangu/Bokkos federal constituency, Hon. Akims Mamot James has been applauded by parents of the first set of beneficiaries under his scholarship scheme.
In a press statement made available to our correspondent in Jos, Plateau State, Hon. Akims said the scholarship was made available because of his passion to nurse the less privileged, especially vulnerable girl-child in the society.
In what he calls “Save the Girl-child by A Gani A Kasa Movement”, which is another success recorded in his political career, whereby 15 girls from Mangu and Bokkos towns are trained in catering school under the scheme, the scheme also provided accommodation and feeding stipends to make learning and living easier for the participants.

James added that the initiative will enable them coordinate their future and be self-reliant, where they can fend for themselves. He encouraged other philanthropists to give back to the society.
After the program, the beneficiaries will be inducted into the catering profession, to make them suitable for employment or even become employers of labour with the skills they have acquired.
