PMB endorses Senator Abdullahi Adamu as next APC National Chairman

Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano

Worried by the continuous postponement of the convention of APC, President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to intervene and openly endorse Senator Abdullahi Adamu from Nasarawa State as the next Chairman of the party.

In a closed-door meeting with his close associates, the president openly made it clear that Abdullahi Adamu, a two-term governor of Nasarawa State and now serving his third term as a senator has done a wonderful job when he served as Chairman Reconciliation Committee of the Party.

Recently, this is what is making the party grow stronger by the day, especially, with the tireless effort of the young Governor of Yobe State, Honourable Mai Mala Buni, who piloted the affairs of the party for the past two years.

Under Governor Mala Buni, several senators, governors, house of reps and even businessmen and non-politicians decamped to APC to show their solidarity to the party and make sure that it retains the presidency come 2023. This has led to speculations that Buni may be interested in running as Vice President or even National Chairman of
the party, but all these were unfounded, some are only envying Mai Mala Buni for the successful way the party is growing under him.

With the open endorsement of Abdullahi Adamu by the president who according to the constitution of the party is the leader of the party, it is now clear that a presidential candidate will not come out from the North, even from the south, it’s going to be Senator Bola Ahmad Tinubu, and his political associates, the Vice President Yemi
Osinbajo, who our correspondent can report that he has already contacted former Deputy Governor of Kano State professor Hafiz Abubakar to head his National Campaign Team.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu who is above 70-years-old is a no-nonsense politician and he will always tell the president this is what the party should do to win the presidency in 2023. Similarly, he will need to immediately talk to former Governor Yari of Zamfara State, and Tanko Almakura, the former two-term governor of Nasarawa State to put
their chairmanship ambition aside and work for the party especially the Kano Chapter which is undergoing a serious crisis.

The president also has no choice but to clearly throw his weight behind Tinubu or Osinbajo, so that the party will not have a problem when it will select a presidential candidate in its group. Come 26th March, the National Caretaker Chairman will hand over to whoever wins the National Chairmanship Election so that Governor Buni and his Group will go home and rest, and allow elected officials to run the party and position it for the Presidential election, next year.
