NUJ seeks synergy with Yobe judiciary on effective working relationship

Officials of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Yobe state council have paid an advocacy visit to the State Chief judge, Justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama in his office in Damaturu to ensure harmonious working relationship between the judiciary and Journalists in the state.

Chairman of the council Comrade Rajab Mohammed led the delegation during the visit.

Comrade Mohammed said the NUJ intends to strengthen working synergy between Journalists and Judiciary, hence, the delegation wishes to solicit for the support and corporation of the Chief judge towards the progress of media activities in the state.

He said the media is the fourth estate of the realm in assisting government to promote their activities, policies and programmes through enlightenment, educating and setting up agenda for both the government and the governed.

Responding, the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama expressed appreciation over the visit saying it is the first of its kind since he was sworn-in as substantive chief judge of the state.

He assured the NUJ leadership that his office will work closely with the media to promote mutual understanding between government and the governed.

In his vote of thanks, Chairman of the correspondents chapel Ahmed I Abba assured the readiness of the Union and media in the state towards working together with the judiciary for mutual understanding among the citizens.

He also commended the efforts of the chief judge justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama for carrying journalist along.

The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalist was accompanied by the Council Secretary Secretary of the Union, comrade Alhasan Sule Mamudo, Vice Chairman Mohammed Kalusha Bukar, Chairman Correspondents’ chapel Ahmed I Abba, Murjanatu Hamisu Yalwa among others.
