After the expiration of the one-month warning strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the union has extended the industrial action by another eight (8) weeks.
The resolution to extend the strike action was reached after a meeting this weekend.

According to The Guardian quoting Professor Abdulkadir Muhammad Danbazau, an official of ASUU, the decision to extend the strike was to allow the union and government reach agreement in other to avoid any other strike in future.
The Prof Danbazau added that the two months was enough for the government to do the right thing onthe lingering issues.
