Ghana shatters Nigeria’s world cup dream

The Black Stars of Ghana have eliminated Nigeria’s Super Eagles from qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a 1-1 draw in away goal rule.

The heat was on after Arsenal player Thomas Partey masterfully smashed in the ball into the back of the net in the opening 10th minute of the game giving the Ghana emphatic lead.

The Super Eagles were undeterred piling up pressure with their front man Victor Osimhen.

The cheering home crowd were gifted with a penalty kick courtesy Troost-Ekong in the 22nd minutes.

Nigeria failed to muster some level of professionalism lacking vigour and zest in the midfield.

The second 45 minutes was full of hopes for the home team but it all disappeared into the atmosphere as Ghana held on the to the pressure booking a ticket to the world cup in Qatar.
