Borno South senatorial aspirant receives nomination form from friends
Story from Haruna A. YUSUF, Abuja
Borno South senatorial aspirant, Honourable Kudla Milda Satumari, on Tuesday, 22nd March 2022 received the senatorial election nomination form presented by his group of friends in Abuja under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The form was presented to him by his group of friends led by Elder Mbirza Gabasa (PDP stakeholder) and Dr Alfred Gadzama, Chairman Haske Foundation.
Hon. Satumari after receiving the form said he was surprised when some of his friends and supporters deemed it necessary to bear the cost of acquiring the senatorial form considering the fact that he has been spending his money to ensure he provides positive and quality leadership for the people of southern Borno.
“I was pleasantly surprised when some of my friends and supporters said to me, enough is enough that I have spent so much money to seek for political position and to provide a positive and quality leadership for the people of southern Borno, so they will bear the cost of acquiring the form.
“In addition, they also said as a mark of appreciation, they would like to present it to me on my birthday which is today (Tuesday) the 22nd of March 2022. I was glad because I know the majority of you here must have contributed and I may not know who and what, but what you all have shown me is that collectively our aspirations can be achieved”, he said.
Hon. Kudla took time out to explain what he is going to do differently if elected as the Senator of Southern Borno.
“In the last election in southern Borno, we travelled to about nine local governments in Southern Borno and were shocked at the sorry state which indigenes of these villages are living. Knowing the challenges faced by the people in my senatorial district will make it easy for me to provide quality leadership.”
He further said, “If you fear God and have compassion, you will apply the resources for the good of the people. If elected, I know that with my national and global network of influence, I will bring about the desired development.”
When asked about insecurity in the North East as it affects southern Borno in particular, Hon. Kudla said there is a need to create more awareness, encourage local vigilantes and also apply deep intelligence gathering.
The occasion ended with the cutting of a cake to mark his birthday.
