Federal Poly Kaltungo in Gombe to commence diploma programmes

The newly established Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo in Gombe State is set to begin academic activities with 11 national diploma courses.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Suleiman Lame, disclosed this Tuesday when a delegation of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) visited the school to assess its facilities prior to the accreditation of the proposed programmes.

Lame explained that the polytechnic was established one year ago adding that they want to commence academic sessions soon, hence, they invited the accreditation body to come and appraise the polytechnic in order to get approval for the commencement of academic activities.
According to him, the proposed courses include electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, statistics, accounting, business administration, public administration, crime management, library science and tourism.
He expressed appreciation to the state Governor Inuwa Yahaya for allocating 100 hectares of land to the new institution for the construction of its permanent site.
In his remarks, the leader of the NBTE delegation and director of polytechnic programmes of the board, Architect Nbede Ogo, said the committee would give an exit report to the school on areas they need to improve before submitting a report to the NBTE headquarters.
