Gombe 2023 Guber: Group endorses Isa Pantami as next governor

A group under the aegis of Concerned Citizens of Gombe State has endorsed the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, as the next governor of the state come 2023.

They made the endorsement on Tuesday while addressing journalists in Gombe saying that if the minister agrees to vie for the governorship position, they would purchase the nomination form for him and donate 11 campaign vehicles that would be used in the 11 local government areas of the state.

Spokesperson of the Group, Alhaji Muhammad Nafiu Abdullahi, who addressed the press conference said the group of Concerned Citizens comprise 114 business people drawn from the various local governments.

He said Pantami in his capacity as Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) as well as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has excellently discharged his duties of making positive and useful development within Gombe state in terms of Information communication development and provision of facilities.

“Pantami has consistently initiated and completed projects that cut across the 11 local governments of Gombe state in the past six years.

“He has initiated the placement of several regional and state offices of important parastatals to Gombe like NITDA, NCC, Galaxy Backbone, ECC and other key activities that directly led to the development both within and outside the ICT sector where he champions.

“Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami is a young, learned, vibrant leader who, in the past has shown he has the capacity to take our dear state to greater heights”, he said.

The Group vowed to drag the minister to court if he does not heed their call to join the governorship race.
