Gov. Buni resumes office, calls for calm for successful convention

Yobe State Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinarily Convention Planning Committee, Honourable Mai Mala Buni, has appealed for calm to put the recent events in the party behind and work towards a successful Convention.

According to a press statement signed by the DG, Press and Media Affairs to the Yobe State Governor Mamman Mohammed, Buni arrived the country today, and took over the leadership of the party, while revealing that the success of the party remain paramount and needs the support of every member.

“As we head towards the National Convention, the party needs the support of every stakeholder and member to succeed. As democrats and committed party members, we should avoid issues that are capable of diverting our attention from the path of success” he advised.

Governor Buni noted that it is a waste of time to hold grudges against one another following the recent past events, saying such is detrimental to the party and its success.

“I wish to on behalf of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, our critical stakeholders and members of our great party, register our
profound gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), for the amicable resolution of events in the party.

“We appreciate the good leadership role exhibited by Mr President in resolving the recent events to keep a united and strong APC”. The Governor added.

Meanwhile, the Chairman CECPC, has directed that all actions taken by the committee under the acting chairmanship of Niger State Governor, Muhammad Sani Bello, remain valid and binding.

“I had duly transmitted power to His Excellency the Niger state Governor Muhammed Sani Bello. Therefore, all actions and measures taken by the committee under his leadership as acting chairman, remain valid and binding.

“The party now calls for support and understanding to move forward and have a successful Convention”. Governor Buni said.
