Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, says workers in the state will be sanctioned for obeying the sit-at-home order given the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The governor made this known on Friday in a statement issued by the Head of Service, Mr Theodora Igwegbe.

The sit-at-home order by IPOB which has been in effect since the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu was to to draw the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to what the group alleged to be injustice being meted to the Biafran champion who is currently being prosecuted.
Although, the group has recently said people should ignore the sit-at-home order as it has lifted the directive, but the situation remains largely unchanged with reports of attacks on persons and businesses who go against the directive.
In the light of this, Soludo in the statement said all workers including political office holders in Anambra must henceforth, turn up at work or face severe sanctions.
The statement titled ‘Attendance to work’ reads in part, “Consequently, absence from duty on Monday or any other official workday without approval will be viewed as serious misconduct which will attract appropriate sanctions.”
Recall that Charles Soludo during his inaugural speech called on IPOB and its militia arm, the Eastern Security Network, (ESN) to work hand-in-hand with his administration in ending insecurity plaguing the state.
