Nigerian activist, Sunday Igboho released from Benin Prison
Yoruba Nation Activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Ighoho, has been released by the Government of the Republic of Benin.
A statement on Monday by Maxwell Adeleye, Communications Secretary, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), confirmed his release.
The spokesman said the Yoruba Nation agitator was handed over to IOO leader, Prof. Banji Akintoye, by the Benin Republic Government.

Igboho had been detained in a prison facility in the Republic of Benin, after he was arrested with Ropo, his wife, at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou, while on his way to Germany in July 2021.
The 49-year-old agitator fled Nigeria for Benin Republic after the Nigerian government declared him wanted.
The Communications Secretary to Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Mr Maxwell Adeleye in the statement said Igboho was released to Akintoye and a French Language Expert/ Deputy Alana of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Professor Wale Adeniran.
IOO is the umbrella body of a number of Yoruba self-determination groups.
Adeleye described the release of the activist as a triumph of truth over darkness in Yoruba Land.
