Residents of Kwaja in Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa State are lamenting over the seizure of their farmlands by armed security officers from Cameroon.
The residents who share border with the Cameroonians are calling on the Nigerian government to intervene and help reclaim their land from Cameroonian officials.

According to an online report by akelicious.com, residents have complained fiercely, claiming that they have been refused access to their farmlands.
Their protest message reads, ‘Maintain ICJ position,’ ‘We agreed to the 1932 Thompson Marchand Declaration,’ and ‘We need protection from the Nigerian government.’
The community said that on 14 February 2022, Cameroonian officials constructed demarcation marks in the Mubi South LGA communities of Kwaja, Kinga, Jugrma, and Fajawa Girziya, which are noted for their Irish potato farming.
Dr Ibrahim Kwaja, the community’s spokesman, stated that a letter requesting the Nigerian government to protect the rights and interests of the people has been addressed to the federal and state governments, as well as the Nigeria/Cameroon Mixed Commission on the boundary, emphasizing that the community was amalgamated as part of the Northern protectorate in 1914.
The letter supports the Thompson Marchand statement, which the International Court of Justice has recognized as the correct instrument for determining the boundary in the Kwaja area against the watershed line.
