Man narrates how he was hypnotised on taxi to Abuja

Story from Haruna A YUSUF, Abuja

Abubakar Muhammad Guani, a student of Bayero University in Kano State, Nigeria has narrated his unfortunate encounter with a man he met on a taxi to Abuja (where he resides with his  parents) from Kaduna State.

“I met a man who was my co-traveler on a taxi in Kaduna on my way to Abuja. He approached me as if he knew me from somewhere but i didn’t recognise him and I played along. So when I was asked to pay for my transport fare, I dipped my hands in my pocket and brought out both my school ID card and money simultaneously, so my co-traveler saw my ID card and he exclaimed; ‘so you attend BUK’! and I said yes, I’m running my MSc in Bio-Chemistry and he quickly said he is also an Msc student of Engineering department”.

Muhammad further said the man prefaced another conversation about the ASUU strike saying that since the strike started, he has been paying more attention to his inter-state buying and selling business and he asked if I would like to join him to do the business and I said I wasn’t interested.

“Amidst the conversation he brought out date fruit and offered it to me and I collected it and gave it to a beggar. As the vehicle was about to commence on the journey, I requested the driver to stop whenever he sees any face mask vendor so I can get one for myself, then my co-traveler immediately offered me a face mask from his pocket, I couldn’t reject the offer because I needed it to protect myself from sore throat. As I tried to fix the mask on my face he requested I give him my cellphone which I did and that’s all I could remember as I became unconscious.”

Additionally, Guani said his unconscious body was found in Wazobia car park along  Gwagwalada-Lokoja road as concerned individuals gathered around him and were pouring water on him in other to resusicitate him.

“When I woke up, I wanted to talk to the the crowd but I was too weak to do so. Someone from the crowd dipped hand in my pocket and picked a telephone number that I wrote on a piece of paper during the cause of my journey and they put a call across to the owner of the number who is my relative but lives in Kaduna; that was how the information got to my parents who lives in Abuja, who then came to the Wazobia park to pick me up to the hospital”.
