Liverpool continued with their sterling performance on Saturday evening despite a late scare beating rivals Manchester City 2-3 to book a ticket into the FA Cup final.

The Reds started off early with a goal in the ninth minute courtesy Ibrahim Konate and doubled the lead eight minutes later from Senegalese Sadio Mane.

Liverpool continued with their strength in the midfield where Mane earned a brace in the game with an assist from Thiago Alcantara.

City came into the second half of the game with pressures and just two minutes in the start they reduced the tally thanks to their £100 million player, Jack Grealish who gave a sigh of relief for Pep Guardiola.

The Citizens were not done with the pressure which paid off in the 91st minutes scoring a late goal which was tapped in the back of the net from Bernardo Silva after a silly mistake from City’s defenders who were unable to prevent Rihad Mahrez from taking a weak cross which went underneath the keeper.

Guardiola was unable to start Kevin de Bruyne and had Kyle Walker out injured, preferred Zack Steffen to Ederson in goal which backfired for the team.

Liverpool will face either Chelsea or Crystal Palace, who meet at Wembley on Sunday, in the final on 14 May.
