Ramadan: Gombe gov’t distributes food items to citizens
Committee incharge of Ramadan relief package distribution in Gombe State has commenced the conveyance of food stuff to the designated centres of the 11 local government areas of the state.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has earlier directed the committee to make sure the food items are equally distributed to individuals, groups and associations, so as to provide succour, especially to the less privileged persons in the society in the holy month of Ramadan.
The committee was at the Gombe Central store to supervise the dispatch exercise to all the 11 LGA’s and subsequent distribution in all the 114 wards of the state.

Speaking at the event, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Abubakar Inuwa Kari said the directive by Governor Yahaya was done in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan.
He said, “As you can see the vehicles are being loaded to the various local government areas for onward distribution to the beneficiaries.
“Clubs and associations are equally here to pick their consignment, so I am here to ensure that the distribution goes as planned and those charged with the responsibility execute it to the later”, he stated.
According to him, the gesture of distributing food items has been a trademark of the present administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya covering both faiths, especially during religious rites.
Governor Inuwa had earlier approved a template to be implemented by Local Government Councils’ Chairmen in their respective areas with Hon. Members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioners and Party Chairmen as members while SSA’s (Community Relations) serve as Secretaries in order to ensure a smooth distribution exercise.
Items being distributed include 25,000 bags of sugar, 15,000 bags of rice, 15,000 gallons of cooking oil as well as 15,000 cartons each of Spaghetti pasta and Tomato paste respectively.
