State Party Supremacy: Only serving governors are recognised as party leaders – APC Chair
Story from Ademola ADEBAYO, Abuja
The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, says the party’s constitution only recognises serving governors as leaders of the party at the state level.
The chairman stated this on Wednesday at the 11th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the APC, held in Abuja.

He regretted the rivalry among APC past and serving governors in some APC controlled states, warning that their actions may affect the chances of the party in the 2023 elections.
“The problem today is a battle between serving state governors and their predecessors. It is a battle of ego. We can’t let this continue because it constitutes a threat to the party.”
He expressed the need for the party to be united at all levels if it does not want to suffer a similar fate to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) between 2023 and 2014.
