Adamawa 2023 Primaries: Senator Aishatu Dahiru emerge victorious with 430 votes

Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed has won the just concluded primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State with about 430 votes.
The election which took place at the Lamido Cinema Thursday had eight candidates including the immediate past governor of the state, Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla, who were accredited before the commencement of the voting process late in the night.

In sequence, delegates from each of the 21 local government areas of the state individually cast their votes.
Officials of the function from APC’s national body, led by the chief returning officer, Gambo Lawan, sorted and counted the votes in the early hours of Friday, where Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed emerged victorious with 430 votes.
The other contenders were Malam Nuhu Ribadu with 288 votes, Mr Wafari Theman with 21 votes, Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla with 103 votes, Honourable Abdulrazak Namdaz with 99 votes and Alhaji Umar Mustapha with 39 votes.
In her words of acceptance and appreciation, the winner of the primary election, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, thanked the returning officer and his team for conducting a hitch-free election process. She equally appreciated the delegates for their confidence in her and called on the other contestants to join her for the victory of the party come 2023.
