The Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has felicitated with Muslim Ummah, they mark this year’s Eid-el Fitr, signifying the end of the 30-day Ramadan fast.

In a Sallah message personally signed by the Governor, issued on Sunday, Engineer Sule enjoined the Muslim faithful to sustain in applying the virtues of the Ramadan, through sustained supplication, hospitality and good neighbourliness.

Engineer Sule further called on Muslims in the state and across the country, to re-affirm their obedience to Allah’s injunctions as contained in the Holy Qur’an, follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet, as well as pray for the country’s leaders at all levels to govern with the fear of God.

He used the opportunity of the festive period, to call on the people of Nasarawa State to continue to accommodate each other’s beliefs and values to sustain peace, harmony, socio-cultural and economic prosperity.

The Governor assured people from other regions in the country that Nasarawa State is a miniature Nigeria that accommodates all and sundry, irrespective of tribe, region, religion or any other creed, urging all citizens to remain law-abiding and go on in pursuit of their lawful means of livelihood.

“Let me take the liberty of this festivity to implore all citizens of Nasarawa State and Nigerians to continue to pray for the sustenance of peace, security and socio-economic prosperity of the state and the country at large,” he stated.

While emphasising the need to be vigilant, particularly, during this celebration to ensure the safety of the neighbourhood and harmonious co-existence, the governor also urged the people to ensure brotherly conduct in the evolving political activities to enable the people to elect leaders of their choice in an atmosphere of tranquillity and stability.

He appealed to road users to obey traffic regulations, just as he called on officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and other security agencies to intensify enforcement of the laws during this festive season and beyond.

The Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of the Ramadan fast and is signified by intense worship, and an increased act of kindness and charity, aimed at strengthening one’s faith through spiritual rejuvenation.

Meanwhile the governor performed Eid- el-Fitr prayer at the Gudi, Eid praying ground in the Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.
