Ex-Chief of Air Staff, Sadiq Abubakar, wins Bauchi APC governorship primary election

Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Ambassador Sadiq Baba Abubakar (rtd), has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election.
Sadiq is now the candidate to represent the party during the forthcoming governorship election in 2023. He scored 370 votes to defeat Senator Halliru Dauda Jika, a senator representing Bauchi Central, who scored 278, followed by the youngest among the aspirants, Nura Manu Soro who scored 269.

Others are Dr Musa Babayo who scored 70 votes, Farouk Mustafa, 26 votes, Bauchi SSG Mahmood Maijamaa, eight votes, former Minister of Health, Dr Ali Pate had zero votes.
The chairman of the election committee and former Governor of Jigawa State, Ali Sa’ad, declared Sadiq the winner of the election.
In his acceptance speech, Sadiq thanked the delegates who elected him and described his success as that of the party.
