Fayemi woos APC delegates in Yobe, blames insecurity on rich – poor gap (Video)

His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman Nigerian Governors Forum who is an APC presidential aspirant, Dr John Kayode Fayemi, has visited Yobe APC delegates ahead of 2023 primary elections.

While in the state, the presidential aspirant paid courtesy call on the state Governor, Honourable Mai Mala Buni (Chiroman Gujba) to intimate him on his ambition and seek for the support and prayers of APC members and the people of the state to realise his ambition.
Responding, the state Governor, Honourable Mai Mala Buni, represented by his Deputy His Excellency, Honourable Idi Barde Gubana (Wazirin Fune), who appreciated the visit and wish him well in his consultations ahead of the party’s forthcoming primary elections.
According to him, as a Governor, Minister and Chairman of all Governors in Nigeria Fayemi has the experience to understand the Nigerian challenges.
He stressed that Nigeria witnessed significant development under president Mohammad Buhari but the project is not yet finished, “we hope Dr Kayode will continue with the good policies and programmes of Baba Buhari if elected”.
The presidential aspirant meet with the state delegates and appealed to vote for him during primaries, assuring that they will not have any cause to regret choosing Dr Kayode as a candidate of the party to be the next president.
Fayemi told the delegates that the yawning gap between rich and poor is the major source of insecurity in the country.
He said one of the best ways to solve the numerous problems facing Nigeria is to address the issue of insecurity, which remained a challenge in the country.
“But we cannot resolve insecurity crises without addressing its root cause.
The root cause, in my own humble opinion lies in inequality in our society. The wide gap between the rich and the poor, which needs to be bridged.
“Because that in itself is affecting the Nigeria’s national cohesion and unity”, he said.
Fayemi therefore said the country needed someone with vast knowledge and capacity to lead.
Also speaking, the former APC Deputy national Chairman, Sen Lawan Shuaibu, noted that Yobe State is a strong home of APC, he expressed confidence that Kayode will emerged as the candidate.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the party and good people of Yobe State, the special adviser on political and legislative matters, Honourable Aji Yerima Bularafa expressed gratitude and appreciation for the visit adding that Dr Kayode was the first presidential aspirant who visited the state.
