The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has appointed Anamekwe Nwabuoku as acting Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday, May 20, and signed by Aliyu Ahmed, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, according to Channels Television.
Nwabuoku is expected to carry out his duty with strict compliance with extant rules and observe the highest sense of professionalism.
He takes over from Ahmed Idris, who was suspended following his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged diversion of N80 billion.
