Police to invite Sokoto pastor over alleged possession of AK47

Operatives of the Sokoto State Police Command have concluded arrangements to invite a senior pastor who was allegedly spotted with AK47 in his church in Sokoto.

This development is coming amidst the ongoing religious crisis in the state over the killing of a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto, Deborah Samuel.

Neptune Prime was told by a senior security operative (Name withheld) that the police received a report of a pastor who went to his church and openly displayed AK47.

Though it is not yet verified whether the weapons are registered or not, and the motive why he took them to the church.

Security operatives are still monitoring Sokoto metropolises, to fish out hoodlums that demonstrated yesterday burning and looting properties of innocent people.

The source further said they are shocked to see a senior man of God openly displaying AK47 in the church, which can easily spark and cause anger within the society.

It could be recall that one Deborah Samuel was attacked and killed in Sokoto, her corpse was burnt, which has caused serious tension in the country, with Islamic leaders condemning or justifying the incident.

Because of the incident, Sokoto State is under 24-curfew imposed by the governor.

Those who saw the pastor with the AK47 are calling on security operatives to quickly invite him for questioning.
