Why Dr Zainab Gimba clinched Borno APC House of Reps ticket with 179 votes
Honourable Dr Zainab Gimba has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Bama/Ngala/Kala Balge Federal Constituency in Borno State.
She won the primary election with 179 votes to defeat her closest opponent, Babagana Ajari, former Chairman of Bama Local Government who polled zero votes.
A total of 180 delegates voted, with one nill vote, Kalabalge had 50 delegates, Ngala, 60, and Bama 70.

As the only female federal legislator from Borno State, she has carried out various empowerment programmes within and outside her constituency.
Reaching out to the vulnerable groups like the People Living With Physical Disabilities (PLWPD), children, orphans and women.
Recently, she distributed 200 wheelchairs and cash gifts to 200 People Living With Physical Disabilities (PLWPD) to alleviate their hardships.
Honourable Dr Zainab Gimba served as a Commissioner, Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Youth Empowerment Borno State from 2011 to 2014. She also served as the Honourable Commissioner of Borno State Universal Basic Education Board from 2014 to 2015. She was appointed as the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Water Resources in Borno State in 2015 and served till 2018.
During the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala in 2019, Dr Zainab was elected vice president of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarian (CWP) Africa region.
