The Lagos State Police Command has waded into the matter of a video which went viral on social media Wednesday of an American lady who was reportedly hypnotised by an internet fraudster in local parlance, a ‘Yahoo Boy’ and regained her senses three days later.
According to report by Linda Ikejis Blog, the lady claimed she came into the country from California, USA, three days ago but didn’t know how the boy was able to convince her to come.

She was said to have been camped by the boy in his house in Badagry, although she didn’t know what and how she got there.
The medium stated that fight broke out after the lady seized the boy and demanded to know how she got to his house and why. Onlookers were said to have intervened in the matter and the duo were taking to the home of the Baale.
However, the police command through its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Superintendent of Police (SP) Benjamin Hundeyin, in a series of tweets on Wednesday said the story is false.
According to the PRO, the said woman in the video is a German, she has been living with her husband in the same house. The PRO further revealed that the woman declined to be taken to the German embassy insisting to go back home with her husband.
He tweeted:
“False narrative! The woman is German. She has been living with her husband in that same house since February 2019. They had a misunderstanding yesterday which necessitated neighbors intervening. The Police arrived on time and took her to the station.
“She declined to be taken to the German embassy. She insisted on going back home with her husband. The husband too very willingly made up with her. They are happily back home. Note: I deliberately left out the names to give them their privacy.”
