Mother of Jigawa senatorial APC candidate abducted

Mother of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Jigawa Central Senatorial Zone, Honourable Tijjani Ibrahim Gaya, has been abducted by unknown men in Kiyawa town, Jigawa State.
The victim, Hajiya Jaja, 70 years, was abducted from her house in Kiyawa local government of the state.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shisu, said the incident happened at midnight on Monday.
He explained that the suspected kidnappers stormed the family house of the senatorial candidate in Kiyawa town and forcefully whisked Hajiya away.
According to Shisu, after receiving the report of the abduction, the state commissioner of police mobilised a special police team for the rescue of the victim.
“To ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects and rescue of the victim, the police are collaborating with other security agencies and the public for useful information,” DSP Shisu noted.
A source from Kiyawa told Neptune Prime that the suspected kidnappers numbering about 15 to 20 stormed the town, well-armed in three vehicles and after scaring the people around, forcefully entered the house of the victim and whisked her away to an unknown destination.
The source further explained that the kidnappers are yet to contact the family.
